Balcon de Europa  Nerja  Nerja

Nerja is the most easterly coastal town in the province of Malaga, situated approx 60 kms from Malaga airport and linked by a newly constructed motorway.
The town is an affluent tourist destination which has been steadily gaining in popularity since the 1970's.
Nerja is a typical Andalusian whitewashed town of great charm and character, with a well maintained and sympathetically preserved centre. The town has many attractions including the lively Balcon de Europa, the famous caves, historical architecture and a wonderful relaxed ambience. The town also holds a coveted European blue flag for Burriana beach. According to latest census figures Nerja has a population of 16000 plus a foreign community of over 5000. The town's population swells to 70000 in the summer. Our research shows the majority of foreign residents stay in Nerja to enjoy the wonderful climate especially from September to late spring.
A major benefit of the temperate climate is enjoying a round of golf ,with Añoreta Golf club within half an hours drive and Club Baviera opening a nine hole course in July and expanding to 18 holes late next year . An hour's drive will open the entire Costa del Golf(e.g. Torrequebrada, Mijas etc)
A short drive east of Nerja is the Marina del Este catering for all water sports. 100 kms east of Nerja is the historic city of Granada and the superb skiing in the Sierra Nevada.
